Fashion Friday

Let’s see – what’s on our regular programming schedule for today?  Ahh – the day we get to strut our 3yo fashion statement!  Don’t worry – you haven’t been missing much.  The summer garb of choice – 1 of 7 bathing suits, topped by a tiara.  Every day.  (And today’s punctuation of choice – the em dash.)

Moving on to the “regular” stuff…

Welcome to the latest and greatest in kid fashion!

If you've got some great fashion going on in your house, go post your fashion photos of the week, come back and link up, and then grab your sparking grape juice on ice, sit back, relax, and enjoy the show!

(You know what?  If you’ve got a post that has pictures of kids with ANYTHING on, go ahead and link up.  Doesn’t matter what the post is about.  It’s getting kind of lonely here on the catwalk by myself.)

So, let’s call this edition the swimsuit edition.  Swimsuits are so versatile – you can wear them with any tiara you’ve got!aDSC01182

And vice versa…

If the situation requires that you dress up, just add a pink tutu, and you’re set to go…  Star wand is optional, but a great accessory as well.

Did I mention the pink tutu is versatile as well – it goes with any bathing suit?!

End of swimsuit edition.  We’ll move on to fall fashion with our next “regular” edition of Fashion Friday.

Welcome to the latest and greatest in kid fashion!

Today, we're all about 3-year-old wrist wear.  Think outside the usual bracelet, hey?  There are lots of items that are just big enough for little wrists and arms.

Like toilet paper rolls.  They go really well with bedhead hair styles.

Cell phone cases fit the wrist really well and go with jammies.  Totally.

And the Slinky is a versatile wrist accessory that goes with ANY outfit.

If all else fails, here's my #1 beauty tip of the week:  A girl can NEVER have too much lipstick on!

Let's see, where should we start? Well, every three-year-old girl needs a good pair of spikes. Like these black boots that go with all the little red dresses.  Very elegant...

Speaking of dresses, gotta model this frilly purple number made by one of the ladies at church.  Perfect for spinning and feeling princessly, even combined with jammie bottoms and bathtub hair...

Since it is spring (sort of - we seemed to do a uturn back to winter for a while, but today is spring and tomorrow will be summer, we're told), you really need a butterfly net.  It's perfect for catching things, even yourself.  Very handy, that feature!

And we can't get too much further from Earth Day without me showing you my very awesome face painting.  Lots of great paintings out there, but this was by far the best one on Earth [Day], if I do say so myself...  (Cautionary note:  face paintings do NOT mix well with tears.)

Speaking of role-play (from last week), the three-year-old continues to be a princess in our home, even in the absence of a solid tiara.  Bubbles work equally well for a tiara!

I also do a really good sleeping doctor impersonation...  Not pictured is my very own stethoscope.  I am really good at hearing your heart in your neck.

Just a regular old hat-wearing pony-rider...

And our favorite combo of the week - watch out, Williams sisters!  We got a smashing tennis player on the rise - complete with her "girl Boots" on the front of her "tennis" dress.

Fashion Friday

Welcome to the latest and greatest in kid fashion!

If you've got some great fashion going on in your house, go post your fashion photos of the week, come back and link up, and then grab your sparking grape juice on ice, sit back, relax, and enjoy the show!

Now, role play is one of the most important features you'll find in three-year-old fashion.  Anything goes; look past obvious clothing and dress-up baskets.

To be a mermaid, all you need is a king-sized pillow.   Crawl into the case, and presto, you've got everything you need to squirm around on the floor, swishing your glorious tail.

Now, if you want to be a princess, you need a princess dress.  Because princesses DON'T wear pants, no matter what Mom tells you.  You can gallop on a hobby horse - that's optional.  But the umbrella (what's a parasol, Mom?) is quite important, too, to protect your beautiful princess skin from indoor rain.  Especially if it's got tigers and huts on it.  (The umbrella, not the indoor rain.)

You're never too young to raid Mom's closet when you need to expand your wardrobe.  Check out this gorgeous dress I scored!

Just needs a little bow on the back to keep the sleeves up, and it's good to go!

Notice anything interesting in this photo?

That's right!  It's my personalized line of Oregon spring footwear.  Cuz you never know what the day will bring, you need to be prepared for each extreme...

Fashion Friday

We are way way overdue for some fashion on this site, hey?

Welcome to the latest and greatest in kid fashion!

We're gonna focus on hair this week.  Because that is absolutely totally something that is not worthy of any attention.  Please, no ponies, no piggies, no bands, no nothing!  My hair is all about FREEDOM!

So this static look works really well.  Nothing in there except lots of style!

Closer up...

All right, all right...  I'll deign to put in a pony for once.  Because I'm really a baby pony.  But don't expect it to stay in long.

Oh, and I can really rock the headband if I so choose...

Especially paired with a shell necklace!

But this...  THIS is the look.  Because I am really a baby unicorn.  And baby unicorns have horns.  So I've got the best natural horn you've ever seen!  It doesn't get any better than this!

Fashion Friday

Welcome to the latest and greatest in kid fashion!

This week, it's all about being a princess. Cuz that's what I am, folks. A beautiful princess, for the record. And I am two years old.

To be a princess, first you need a crown. And a princess dress. Here was one of my first attempts.
Since then, I've learned that princesses DO NOT wear pants of any kind. Under any circumstances. And they most certainly don't wear pajamas to bed. ONLY princess dresses.

Now if you happen to cut up your princess dress into shreds and have only rags to wear (or paint-spattered brown turtlenecks), you can still wear a crown. It's not quite the same. You will no longer be a princess, only a beautiful girl. Sad but true.
Princesses DO take baths, though. So you can be a princess in the tub, if you wear a crown. See how important that crown is?!
Yep, it's all princess in here...

If for some reason you don't have access to a crown in the bathtub, you can substitute a yogurt cup. Not quite the same, but close.
There - that's it on being a princess. Not only did I cut up my dress, I misplaced my crown somewhere. So I'm relegated to Cinderella status for the time being.

Now this picture here looks like some fun interaction between me and the neighbor cat while on our walk, right?
Nah, it's really a picture of my favorite yellow sparkly "walking" shoes!
Speaking of foot gear, Mommy's bunny slippers have definitely made a comeback amongst 2-year-old fashionistas.
If your Christmas decorations are still out (ours aren't of course!), tinsel garlands make excellent belts for just the sparkling touch. See?
Speaking of Christmas, I've been putting the snowman blanket from Grandma to good use.

See, it's perfectly acceptable to put your pink potty in the middle of the living room to do your business (contrary to adult nightmares). You just need to fully cover yourself with a snowman blanket so no one can see you. Like this:

(Red velvet dresswear to match your sparkling red grape juice is optional.)
Today's two-year-old female fashion is all about PINK. You can never have too much pink. In fact, that rule about NO OVERALLS? Even that rule can be discarded if the overalls are pink. And you're in the mood.

Let's talk about outdoor wear. With a hot pink dress, jacket, and pink boots, you can't fail to be stylin'...

You can even wear spring floral fashion in the dead of winter if it's pink. Bent yellow hula hoop accessories are optional.

Here's the grand finale - the to-die for pink combo. Pink princess dress, worn over hot pink turtleneck to face the bitter cold, with hot pink stockings and sparkly pink shoes...
