Party Time!

Ultimate Blog Party 2009

I heard about this Ultimate Blog Party going on, so I thought I'd put on my animal masks and join the fun. Grrrrrrr!
Ooo ooo ooo ooo ooo!

Boy, this is fun! Now while I have your attention, let me perform my favorite song...

Tinkle tinkle little star,
How are you up 'dere?

I don't know the rest of the words yet, but I'll have them downpat in exactly two weeks, when I'll be TWO YEARS OLD!

Yep, it's gonna be another party time in this house! I'm still trying to figure out what I should do to entertain everyone - let me know if you have suggestions. If you haven't seen it yet, here is a skateboard video clip from my first birthday party:

While we're having fun, let me just remind you all of the Operation Love Zimbabwe book giveaway that is still open! If we get enough comments, one winner will get to choose from three different books.
And remember that if you shop online this month, you can help raise money to support our Zimbabwean orphans. Shop at Amazon.com, eBay, and many more popular online stores! A percentage of all purchases made through The Link Mosaic charity mall during the month of March will be donated to our orphans.
If you like reading, here's another giveaway you might be interested in: the book If Tomorrow Never Comes by Marlo Schalesky. This looks like a terrific Christian fiction book - Mommy is hoping she wins! Go to The Mommy...etc to sign up for this giveaway.
Let's see - one more thing to do before we sign off... My friend Ebi-kun's mommy tagged us in a meme:

This is what you need to do. Write a review of any kids product, it can be a toy, a book or anything which you have personally used. Pass this meme to five other blogger friends.

So here's one of my favorite things - my dry erase board!
I love to make funny faces and eyes and erase them quick before anybody else can see them!

My particular board is a sloped table with numbers at the top and letters at the bottom. I like to color the letters and numbers! We got it at Big Lots for $19.99. It's not the sturdiest construction, Mommy says, but it comes with a chair just my size and it works fine for me!

One thing to be careful of - most dry erase markers are NOT washable! They come off great when you write on the table, but not so great when you write on the walls. We've got a touch up paint job in our immediate future! I've been practicing my painting so I can help with the touch up.

So if you'd like to play along with this kid product meme, consider yourselves tagged:
  1. Here to There
  2. Teacher Turned Mommy...
  3. The Laughs Will Go On...
  4. Baby Tea Leaves
  5. Random Thoughts
So there you go! Party on, folks...
I've got my monkey mask on and I'm off to practice my monkey actions with the folks at church. Have a blessed weekend!
EDIT: I forgot to include my top party prize wish list! I'm still working on it - the list is sooo long, and there are so many to choose from!
Here are the top 3 at the moment:
#125 - Mommy & Toddler Gift Basket set from Seven Dogs & a Baby
#71 - Flip flops for Mom & Daughter from Top It Off
#9 - Crayon Apron from Kennedy Grace
But I have lots of other favorites: All the Target certificates (#19, 21, 22, 26, 91), the toddler apron (#28), the fuzzy monkey headphones (#47), surprise art supplies (#56), Pepsi tote full of loot (#60), Christian Book Distributors certificate (#68), Glitterful felt stories certificate (#104), Office Max certificate (#113), Old Navy certificate (#118), Minkee toddler pillow (#122).
And I certainly wouldn't mind winning #1, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 11, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 24, 30, 32, 38, 39, 48, 49, 50, 51, 52, 53, 55, 64, 65, 69, 72, 74, 76, 77, 78, 79, 80, 84, 87, 92, 95, 98, 103, 105, 106, 108, 109, 111, 114, 115, 119, 120, 126, 130, 127, 132, 133
And INTL1, INTL3, INTL6, INTL18, INTL23, INTL28, INTL29, INTL 30, INTL31, INTL33, INTL35, INTL36, INTL45, INT61, USC15, USC30, USC34, USC40, USC42, USC45, USC47, USC50, USC52, USC56, USC58, USC59, USC62, USC64, USC65, USC73
In fact, I'd take anything that's appropriate for someone who's gonna be 2 years old in two weeks! Or anything that would pamper Mommy, too.
Sorry if I'm sounding a little greedy! But it's almost my birthday, so I'm supposed to say what I want, right?...

Sounds like a lot of fun. And how the heck did I miss that video of Esme? I must not have been reading your blog that long ago.

You must be one trusting momma to let your husband put your daughter on 4 moving wheels down hill!

Hi thanks for taking the time to read my story! I didn't actually write for the contest but had already posted it as just a funny memory for my readers to enjoy a laugh over. Thought it would be fun to submit it to the contest. One thing about publicly sharing something like that - there is not much I can say when my baking supplies are high jacked! :-)
Thanks again for dropping by.
Blessings
Christi

Happy Birthday to your little one in two days!! Enjoy the party.

We have quite a few b-days in our family right around the same time as yours. Mine was last Tuesday, my sons is next Saturday, and my daughter's is about three weeks away. Then it will be Easter!
Also, if you have Mr. Clean Magic Erasers available, they work wonders on getting almost anything off the walls. We know from much experience.

Of course you're supposed to say what you would like, Esme; and so nice of you to think of what would pamper mommy as well. :)
Can't wait to see your new skills on your birthday!

OOh I'd love to do this meme, I've got a few things that I LOVE! And I learned that about dry erase markers the hard way too. It came off toys and the table, but alas, they remain on the closet door. Oh well!
