Bottles

This week's Unplugged Project was "bottle," and since we are on "X" week, we decided to make a xylophone out of bottles.

So Mommy and I got out a bunch of bottles. She didn't have very many empty ones, so I grabbed some out of the fridge to make a few more notes. But she wouldn't let me use the ketchup one since it was plastic. Here I am arranging my xylophone. Great music, er, noise lesson.

I've got spoons to ding on the glasses. Mommy showed me how to pour water into and out of the bottles to make the sound lower or higher. But she wouldn't open up the soy sauce or the banana sauce or the olive oil to let me pour those out. Great pouring lesson.
Then I decided I should read the ingredients of the soy sauce bottle to make sure they were appropriate for my xylophone. Great reading lesson.
Then I decided to see what bottles fit into the other bottles. Great spatial lesson.

Finally I had to clean up all the water I spilled. This would have been so much more fun if I could've poured ketchup instead of water! Great life skills lesson.

Who knew bottles could be so much fun... I wonder what my husband will do if I go and get a bunch of bottles out of the fridge and commence a pouring project????

I guess I will skip it and let you have all the fun MisS Esmé.

I seemed to have missed a lot of stuff between Sunday and Tuesday night. Bottle music, pretty scarfs and drawing with toes. what fun. Sometimes the kids around here have more fun with my laundry baskets than all the toys I have. (o:

A very smart and fun lesson to teach her! Funny how they learn and they don't even realize it.
