Now I know there's no Tiny Talk Tuesday being hosted this week, but Esmé (24 months) is still talking, and we didn't want to get too far behind...

We were out at Cooper Creek Reservoir this weekend and spotted this seacraft. Esmé's love affair with airplanes is still going strong, so she was ecstatic that she got to touch this one.

I asked her if she noticed anything different. "Does it have wheels?"

Esmé's reply: "No, it got feet! Esmé got feet, too!" And she waved her feet around.

Having established a personal connection with the beautiful footed thing, she decided that it must be hungry, too, just like her. "Feed it pretzels!" she said as she extended her pretzel sticks towards the plane.

Sadly, it never took her proffered pretzels, perhaps because she never found the mouth. We will have to study the anatomy of an airplane on our next run through the alphabet.

While waiting for the boat at the reservoir, Esmé raced down a grassy slope towards me with her arms outstretched. As she got close, she exclaimed, "Hugs, kisses, Mommy!"

She gave me a big hug, and then I asked, "Where's the kiss?"

She proceeded to plant two sweet kisses on my lips, and then said, "Right dere!" as she pointed to my lips.

And she continues to have a mind of her own and a stubborn streak to prove her points. Pappa was getting ready to go running, setting up the stroller to take her with him.

She grabbed her purple dress shoes and put them on.

"Those aren't running shoes, Esmé!" he told her.

"Running!" she argued, and she demonstrated by running as fast as she could around the house in her purple shoes.
