OLZ Our Family Mission

Esmé's Mommy here.

As you can deduce from Esmé's profile on the sidebar, shortly after we had the idea of hosting Operation Love Zimbabwe on this blog, our family made the decision to follow God's leading to an orphanage in Zimbabwe.

We are still working through some red tape. Things are moving slower than we expected, but we are dealing with Africa, after all. At this point, the earliest we will be moving there is sometime in March. And at that point, we'll need to figure out some way to move our stuff from Mozambique to Zimbabwe.

Everything happens in God's timing, of course. There is plenty to accomplish while waiting here in Oregon.

This is Esmé's blog. We've hijacked it temporarily for Operation Love Zimbabwe, but at the stroke of midnight tonight, it's going back to being the somewhat idiosyncratic journal of our daughter's life... No fundraising, no advertising, no product reviews.

Our mission needs a support team, though. We'll need funds. We'll need volunteers at the orphanage. We'll need remote volunteers to assist with publicity, fundraising, and procurement of supplies. And we already need prayers.

When things are more formalized, we'll be starting another blog for the orphanage, featuring the kids and the work being done there. In the meantime, if you are interested in supporting our mission with your funds, your time, and/or your prayers, please leave a comment on this post to be added to our newsletter mailing list.

Thanks!

I know for sure I can pray.
I wish I had the energy and the ambition to actually go there and help.

God must have such plans for you.

I am definitely interested, but I am more interested in somehow hooking you guys up with our Church's missions program. We support over 175 missionaries through our Church's program, which is the main way that we (as a couple) support missionaries. Email me and let's talk about it.
