Awry

"The best laid plans of mice and men often go awry..." (Or, if you prefer, "The best laid schemes o' mice an' men gang aft agley...")

Esmé's Mommy here. Let's see - after that last well-planned post, Friday ended up being a very long work/errand day. We went to the coast (Winchester Bay) for a concert on Saturday, and yesterday ended up being a full workday, as will be today. So before we head out the door, here's a quick snapshot from Esmé's adventures with her Pappa and Blue yesterday. Not pictured are all the baby fish at the Rock Creek Fish Hatchery.
Happy Monday!

Blue Monday

We almost forgot to document a very important first! The very first time I ever threw up was about 11 a.m. on August 22nd in the car on the windy road to the coast. We were on the way to a lake near Florence to hang out with cool people.

So I had to sit in a stinky car seat; a very blue experience, I might say...

It wasn't all bad, though you can't tell from these photos! The lake was very beautiful (and BLUE), and I went swimming in it and hung out with my buddy Gabe.

Blue Monday

We're sitting here watching snow come down. The temperature is hovering around 0 degrees Celsius, so the snow isn't sticking and at times seems more like rain.

But going through our photos to find some blue ones, we're reminded that spring really is on the way. These daisy & violet shots were taken a little over a week ago.

I've been messing around with picnik.com and just realized that they look more violet than blue on my computer screen all of a sudden. Funny how computers do that...

Blue Monday

I'd like you to meet George. George is the only stuffed monkey I have in the US. He is also the first monkey I have named all by myself. He's got long arms with velcro that makes him a wonderful hugger!

I've been reading all about Curious George lately. I get a little bored when Mommy or Pappa read the story, but I like looking at the pictures by myself. There is one where George is crying because the front wheel of his bicycle is broken. When I see it, I turn my hands palms up and say sadly, "George crying!"

Then Mommy shows me the next picture, where George is happy because he figured out he can ride on just the back wheel of the bike. I like this! I say, "George one wheel!"

I wish everyone had their own George to hug. Here is a photo of my George, taken with my blue nightlight in honor of Blue Monday. "Good night, George!"
