Mission Sunday

Esmé's Mommy here...

We've been struggling to get a preschool-relevant version of Mission Sunday off the ground, but I know this realization that life is not all about ME is so important, so we're going to try again.  Simple this time.

We'll try to do a "mission" each week, simply one intentional act of focusing on someone else.

Here's our Command Center board:
We started incorporating Raising Rockstars preschool stuff (thanks, Carisa) - the "Let Your Light Shine" theme of her first lesson works perfectly!  And the bottom has stuff related to our mission.

Last Week's Mission:  Read stories at www.wegivebooks.org - and books will be given to others to support literacy around the globe for each book we read!

This Week's Mission:  For Mothers' Day, make a video for the grandmas and post it on YouTube!  Grandma is in Mozambique, and Ouma in South Africa, so we'll work on identifying where they are on the globe.

What great ideas! I love the simplicity of how you are teaching Esme to think about other people. I like that you can see that even thinking about other family members can be mission as well by making the videos for her grandmothers. I wonder if that will help make it more obvious to her because she knows them. I'm curious--let us know how it goes! :)
