Today, my hat's off to the berry pickers.
Cuz I HATE berry picking. All that HARD MANUAL labor for a few handfuls of dirty, mushed up raspberries. That I don't even like eating.
Doesn't help that I dumped the box of berries out twice during the picking. But who wouldn't?
It's HOT and DUSTY. And the dust is hot. And the heat is dusty. And it's PRICKLY, too!
And all I wanna do is get back in the hot car and go somewhere else. I will sit in my car seat GLADLY!
But Mommy keeps insisting on one more berry. Even on the walk back to the car, she kept stopping for one more berry.
Which leads me to this strategic sitting spot.
Yep, looking for a good home - that's me!
Just in case you think I don't know what that sign behind my head says, here's what I told Mommy while sitting there:
"I WON'T put on my shoes! You're not my mommy ANY more!"
Never mind that those shoes are my favorite green slip-ons...
You might find an explanation for my behavior in the next photo. And that's the TOY aisle, folks!
A trip to the park made everything better, of course!
All smiles to ya!

a nap, a baby doll, and fun times at the park always make it better! :)
That is so cute. Around here, the kids won't wear shoes either. I love that her feet are so dirty in the shopping pic!!! Looks like our feet all the time! :o)
Oh. my. you are quite the handful, Esme! But, oh that cute smile must just melt your mommy's heart. :)
That smile at the end makes it all worth it!
I struggle with keeping shoes on Elli too. And no nap days - we won't go there! You know.
I, too, love the feet; that is what Owen's look like as well, and even a soak in bubble bath doesn't quite get all the grime out.
And is that SmartFood white cheddar popcorn I see in your cart? Sigh, I LOVE that stuff! Owen probably would, too, but it is the one thing I won't share.
So funny! Berry picking is hot, tedious stuff. I remember picking berries with my mom when I was little . . . I seem to remember all I wanted to do was sample the berries, not put them in the basket!
Esme, have you read "Blueberries for Sal?" It's a book about a little girl (who looks kind of like you) who goes out picking berries with her mama. The only problem is, she ends up following the wrong mama...
I think swinging at the park is a solution to a whole lot of bad mood and crankiness.
It was nice to see your smile... and I love the green slip-ons.

Hey, there are TWO dolls in that last picture! LOL.
that and a nap
I wish I could sleep in the grocery cart instead of grocery shopping...lol. Too cute!
We all know that berry picking stuff is way too hard!
Eating berries is more fun than picking them any day. Naps and swings are always a nice treat for any of us (o:
what sweetness...so cute sleeping away in the cart- but we both know how lovely it was right before she fell asleep right :o) too cute!
I wanted to pop in and let you know about a new site I launched yesterday-maybe you could pop in when you get a chance :o)

Sadie loves wearing shoes inside, but hates wearing them outside. She's fun like that.
Berry pciking always SOUNDS fun, but only is fun for about 5 minutes. I am laughing at Esme's feet, my Little Guy, who is now 7, despises shoes and I am constantly reminding him to put on a pair of flip flops because his dirty black feet are wrecking my carpet! Esme is such a cutie and growing like a weed!
CUTE pics! All of them! I esp love the one sleeping in the cart, lol. Ahhhh, I wish I could do that at the store. :)
Love the grocery cart pic! Too sweet! I've felt that way many times while shopping at the supermarket. Just wears me out!
